THE BUSINESS COACH

When this client first approached me, her business was growing quickly, but the financial side was not reflective of the business growth she had achieved.

Minor issues, such as business structure, financial processes, debt and her relationship with money caused undue stress at key reporting deadlines and overall, she felt incredibly unsupported by the existing financial assistance she had in place.

All of which did not equal a happy or healthy approach to money within the business.

Confusing QuickBooks program for accounts management.
Bookkeeper who wasn’t in partnership with her (lack of trust).
No processes at the end of the month to review numbers, aka avoided money reality.
Was a Sole Trader but should have been in Company due to revenue.

Xero implemented and very easy to understand and manage.
Bookkeeper/Accountant team that are in partnership with her.
End of month meeting to review Profit & Loss, Debtors and Money Mindset. Actively looks forward to seeing the numbers!
Moved to a company structure for tax benefits and operating in a Company CEO mindset.
Clear debtor management process that is followed weekly, bad debts reduced to approx 5k this financial year.
Money standards have been raised, are now clear and are being enforced.
Difficult money conversations are being had!
Contracts are being issued to all new clients, coaching doesn’t start until this is signed by both parties.
Focus has moved to being of service and money is the OUTCOME, not the GOAL. Deep understanding of seasonality in business.
Superannuation is now being paid quarterly.

THE DENTIST

The Dentist first approached me after feeling a general lack of power and confidence when it came managing her business finances.

Whilst she had the right technical systems in place, they weren't being utilised to their full capacity and there was a temptation to revert back to old school spreadsheets and accounting methods.

The resulting financial climate was one characterised by stress, nervous system shock, pour money standards and lending money to family without boundaries in place.

Unable to generate a Profit & Loss report from Xero and also had no understanding of how to read financial statements.
A lot of money in, but also a lot of money out too (spending on auto pilot).

Xero file has been (almost) fully reconciled from old transactions and maintained weekly during The Money Dates ritual.
Xero is now being used to generate the quarterly BAS, byeeee Excel! (we still love you, just not when we have better systems for this!) Submits BAS to ATO herself and understands all parts of it - a HUGE win!
Transfers accurate money provisions monthly for BAS and income taxes.
Calm and regulated nervous system responses when payment amounts are known for BAS and income taxes, they are paid with ease and appreciation for having the money already set aside.
When money is lent to family, clear standards are discussed and a payment plan agreed on. If payments aren't made, conversations are being had about when a catch-up payment will be made. High money standards!
Operating as a company for revenue purposes and income tax benefits. Has levelled up in the way she operates to embody the elevated CEO she is becoming.
Superannuation is now paid quarterly.
HECS debt has been fully paid off!!
Excited to look at financial statements at the end of the month meeting, she has greater transparency about her business and understands the financial reports.
Is now spending mindfully and building more trust in herself and her wealth-generation habits.
Has shifted her business model and is now working less and earning more with crystal clear contracts.
Has regular money dates with fiance to discuss their current reality and future financial goals for their family unit.

THE COMMUNICATIONS EXPERT

When the Language & Communications Expert was referred to me, there was a sense of internal stress, confusion and anxiety when it came to discussing money matters.

There was on confusion on operational structure (Company vs. Sole trader) and whilst the best accounting systems were in place, they were not understood and best practice was not being followed.

This was compounded by poor debt management and an avoidance of critical conversations with clients around money owed to her and a general sense of confusion about the financial requirements of the business at tax time.

Operating as a company but still as a Sole Trader transactionally and on the back end of the business and also operating in Sole Trader mindset.

Confused about business outcomes and in tears when tax bills were received by accountants.
Contracts in place but inconsistently used and terms not enforced when the standards were pushed by clients.
No process for putting any money provisions aside for BAS or income tax.
Relied on one main client for consistency of income: Risky and draining when work mode was "on".
Too scared to take money out of the business account for fear of doing the wrong thing (From ATO trauma).
Was not supported by her finance team, was too afraid to ask 'dumb questions' and feel silly.
Poor money standards when accepting clients, would allow them into programs with already defaulted payment plans.

The back end of the business is set up properly for operating as a company and she has shifted into a company mindset.
Looks forward to monthly money meetings, we laugh and celebrate and her nervous system is completely calm and stabalised.
Uses Xero for its full funcionality. It is kept up to date and reconciled weekly to be able to generate Profit & Loss which is UNDERSTOOD when generated!
It also allows a finance team to support her in the debtor's management process.
Has written off approx 6k in bad debts this financial year - a HUGE change!
Received an income tax bill and BAS in the same week and paid both with ease and grace from the GST account that had MORE than enough in there. Had gratitude for needing to pay taxes (understands that this means profits were made).
Solid contracts that are used consistently with clear and concise payment terms and conditions that are being enforced in a timely manner.
Puts money aside monthly for GST/Income Tax and has enough to pay ALL of her ATO obligations from love and abundance mindset
Backed herself and created a new offering that has more than replaced the previous main clients' revenue with ease and MORE fulfillment in her business.
Draws a wage from the company monthly and allows herself to spend this money on HER, not her family…HERSELF!
Is deeply supported by The Money Queen and we work in partnership with each other. All questions are welcomed and encouraged to support financial literacy!
Money standards have increased, no clients are able to commence her programs without valid and current payment plans.
